Benjamin Blaydes  1735 – 1805   

Purchased  High Paull Manor, which was sold by William Constable to Benjamin Blaydes, a Hull shipbuilder, in 1769. Also of Melton is a village in the civil parish of WeltonEast Riding of Yorkshire, England. It is situated about 8 miles (13 km) west of Kingston upon Hull city center near to the Humber Estuary and about 0.6 miles (1 km) east of the village of Welton, with which it is nearly contiguous. Also lord of Sutton, Paull, Thorngumbald, and Dimblington manors.

Married about 1775 Kitty Scott (Blaydes) in Marylebone, Middlesex, England,  and co-heiress of Christopher Scott Aldborough in Holderness and had  the following children:

Benjamin Blaydes born  August 1776 at Melton.

Hugh Blaydes was born in August 1777 at Melton.

Katherine Ann Blaydes.

Christopher Blaydes.

Shipwright and Merchant in Hull and ran the family shipbuilding firm at Blaydes' Yard which was a private shipbuilder in Kingston upon Hull, England, founded in the 18th century by the Blaydes family which fulfilled multiple Royal Navy contracts. Her most notable ship was HMS Bounty famed for its mutiny.

High Sheriff of  Kingston Upon Hull,1768  , Alderman and Mayor of Hull 1771 Mayor of Kingston Upon Hull 1788. High Sheriff of Kingston upon Hull is a ceremonial title conferred by Hull City Council as a civic honour on prominent people associated with Kingston upon Hull. Hull has had a High Sheriff since 1440. The position was abolished in 1974 and revived in 2013. Before 1974 the Sheriff usually served for one year;
